Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival, our guide and driver will greet you at the airport entrance. Begin your Mongolian journey with a tour of the capital, starting at Gandan Monastery, the largest Buddhist center in the country. Next, explore the National History Museum and visit Sukhbaatar Square, the heart of Ulaanbaatar. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a Mongolian cuisine restaurant before immersing yourself in a traditional folklore concert. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner.

Day 2Danshig Naadam Begins

Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions of Mongolia at the Danshig Naadam Festival. Experience the captivating Tsam Dance, an ancient ritual of sacred movements, and marvel at the historic ‘Khuree Tsam’ mask dance, dating back to the 18th century. Delve into Mongolia’s rich Buddhist heritage as you honor Zanabazar, the country’s first Buddhist leader. Feel the thrill of Naadam festivities—cheer on skilled wrestlers, witness the power of galloping horses, and admire the precision of archers. This unforgettable journey offers a perfect blend of culture, spirituality, and history.

Day 3Danshig Naadam Day 2

Experience captivating cultural performances featuring traditional Mongolian music and dance, highlighting the country’s rich heritage. On Day 3, immerse yourself in the lively ambiance of Danshig Naadam for a full day of festivities.

Day 4Baga Gazriin Chuluu

Start your day with a journey to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a region home to diverse bird species and wildlife. Spend the afternoon exploring the scenic area before enjoying dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional Ger camp.

Day 5Tsagaan Suvarga

After breakfast, explore the ruins of an ancient Buddhist temple nestled in the heart of an oasis. Then, continue your journey to Tsagaan Suvarga, a striking white limestone cliff resembling a Stupa. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional Ger camp.

Day 6Yol Valley

Continue your journey south to the breathtaking Three Beauties Mountain range in the Gobi Desert. Spend the day exploring Yol Valley, where you can hike and capture stunning photographs of the dramatic landscapes. Enjoy lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay in a traditional Ger camp.

Day 7Khongor Sand Dunes

After an early breakfast, embark on a 4-5 hour journey to Khongoryn Els, home to Mongolia’s largest sand dunes. Take in the breathtaking desert scenery and explore the dunes on foot, with a round-trip hike lasting at least two hours. Adventurous travelers can climb to the summit for spectacular panoramic views. Visit a nomadic camel-breeding family to experience traditional Mongolian hospitality and enjoy a short camel ride. Conclude the day with lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay in a Ger camp.

Day 8Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs

Journey to the world-famous Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag), the site of Mongolia’s first major paleontological discoveries. Follow in the footsteps of renowned American explorer and naturalist Roy Chapman Andrews (1884–1960) as you explore this historic and visually stunning landscape.

Day 9Ongi Monastery

Travel onwards to the banks of the Ongii River, a journey of approximately 4-5 hours, crossing dry plains with no direct roads. Upon arrival, settle into your Ger camp near the river and explore the ruins of two historic monasteries—Barlim Khiid to the north and Khutagt Khiid to the south—together forming the renowned Ongiin Khiid Monastery complex.

Day 10Karakorum the Ancient Capital

After breakfast, journey to Karakorum, the former capital of the 13th-century Great Mongol Empire. Explore Erdene-Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s first and largest monastery, built on the ruins of the ancient city. Tour the monastery’s temples, which house remarkable 17th-century Buddhist Thangka paintings and statues. Visit the Karakorum Museum to delve deeper into the region’s rich history. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a Ger camp, followed by the Juulchin Party in the historic heart of the Mongol Empire.

Day 11Back to Ulaanbaatar

It’s time to return to Ulaanbaatar, where our team will escort you to your hotel for check-in. Conclude your journey with a final city tour, visiting the Bogd Khan Palace Museum and Zaisan Hill, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.

Day 12Terelj National Park & Chinghis Khan Statue

In the morning, embark on a journey to the Tsonjin Boldog Complex for one final highlight of the tour—the iconic Chinggis Khan Statue, the largest equestrian statue in the world. Located approximately 70 km outside Ulaanbaatar, this site offers breathtaking views, a rich historical museum, and souvenir shops to explore. Afterward, continue to Terelj National Park, where you’ll check into your Ger camp for lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the park, beginning with the famous Turtle Rock, followed by a visit to a local family for a horse ride along the Tuul River. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in a Ger camp.

Day 13Farewell Mongolia

After breakfast, embark on the final journey to the airport for your departure. Your guide and driver will bid you a warm farewell, marking the official conclusion of your unforgettable Mongolian adventure. Safe travels home!
