Short visit to the Chingis Khan Statue Complex and Terelj National Park

The Chinggis Khaan Statue, standing 40 meters tall, is situated north of the Tuul River at the legendary site where Chinggis Khaan discovered a golden whip. Symbolically, the statue faces east, toward his birthplace. The complex houses a comfortable restaurant below the statue. Nearby, Terelj National Park, located within an hour’s drive from Ulaanbaatar, offers breathtaking landscapes featuring unique rock formations, pine-covered mountains, and serene mountain streams. Visitors can explore scenic paths along tree-lined riverbanks, experience an overnight stay in a traditional Mongolian ger, or opt for cozy guest rooms. The area provides excellent opportunities for horseback riding along the Tuul River or through the valley, as well as visiting local nomadic families.
