Thank you for choosing Nomad Trail Mongolia—we hope your adventure has been unforgettable, and we warmly look forward to welcoming you back.
We joined this tour as a couple along with my boyfriend’s buddies (Ethan and the crew), and it turned out to be the perfect mix of adventure and comfort. I’ll admit I was nervous about the off-road parts at first, but the guide’s briefing and the lead car made it feel exciting instead of scary. The river crossings were such a rush, Khuvsgul Lake was unbelievably clear, and our evenings in gers were cozy and quiet—just us, friends, and a sky full of stars. My boyfriend and his friends loved every muddy, bumpy mile, and I honestly enjoyed it just as much. Challenge by day, hot tea by night—it doesn’t get better.
We were five buddies and drove to Khuvsgul (northern Mongolia) in two well-equipped cars provided by Nomad Trail—and wow, the route exceeded our expectations. Long stretches off the track, plenty of muddy, rocky, challenging sections, and proper wilderness driving. We even got stuck in deep mud while pushing through deep woods on the way to the Tsaatan community, but our lead car driver Dava jumped in, coached us over the radio, and had us winched out and back on track quickly. Special thanks to Dava and our guide BJ—both professional and genuinely fun to be around. This is the real off-road adventure we were hoping for.
Four friends, 3 cars, endless laughs. The team kept things simple—clear routes, radio check-ins, and quick help when we needed it. Day 4 into Tsagaan Nuur was pure adventure, and meeting a Tsaatan family was a real “pinch me” moment. We hiked a volcano, rolled through canyons, and somehow still had energy for campfire stories. It’s big-day driving, but super rewarding. Bring a playlist and a sense of humor.
