This 3-day horse trekking tour takes you deep into Terelj National Park, just 100 km from Ulaanbaatar, so it’s the easiest way to try horse riding near Ulaanbaatar without a long drive. Ride through larch forest to the hidden Princess Temple, sleep in a tent under the stars, then ride back to share milk tea with a nomad family and a comfortable ger camp night. On the last morning, walk up to Aryabal Monastery for wide valley views and stop at Turtle Rock.
This short horse trek in Mongolia is beginner-friendly and private, for couples and families with teens (14+). Terelj horse trekking is the perfect taste of nomad life.
