Day 1Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

Arrive at Chinggis Khaan International Airport, where your guide will warmly welcome you. Transfer to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar and enjoy a relaxing evening. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore the city on your own or rest after your flight.

Day 2Drive to Danshig Naadam Festival Grounds

Depart Ulaanbaatar and drive to the countryside where the vibrant Danshig Naadam Festival takes place. Upon arrival, experience the opening festivities as locals gather for ceremonies, cultural rituals, and traditional celebrations.
Savor authentic Mongolian cuisine and immerse yourself in nomadic hospitality at your ger camp—your first introduction to Mongolia’s cultural heritage.

Day 3Danshig Naadam Festival: Cultural & Spiritual Celebrations

After breakfast, journey toward the ancient capital Karakorum. En route, stop at the spectacular Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes, a unique 80-kilometer stretch of semi-desert offering incredible photography opportunities.

Continue to Karakorum, the former 13th-century capital of the Great Mongol Empire. Visit:

  • Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia’s first and largest monastery

  • Beautiful temples housing 17th-century Buddhist thangka paintings and statues

  • The Karakorum Museum, showcasing archaeological discoveries and imperial history

Day 5Horse Trek to Tövkhön Monastery & Nomadic Homestay Experience

Saddle up for a guided horseback trek across valleys and forested ridges to Tövkhön Monastery, a peaceful 17th-century spiritual retreat perched atop a mountain. This trek is beginner-friendly yet adventurous, offering panoramic views of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After the trek, immerse yourself in a rare nomadic homestay experience. Spend time with a local herder family and take part in daily activities such as:

  • Milking cows and horses

  • Preparing yogurt, cheese, and airag

  • Learning nomadic skills and herding techniques
